Working from home can be completely ideal for some of us.

So it may not be too late to help a few folks out with a fun ornament idea.. Also, if you’re like me, you may be already planning for next year.So there’s always that!.

Also, if you’re like me in another way, you may find yourself in desperate need of some fun and easy activity to occupy your kids about, oh, 67 times a day..When Chris was putting our tree up a few weeks ago, he cut this little slice off of the bottom to make it super fresh and ready to drink up all that yummy water. He asked me if I wanted the slice and of course I did.. After having it sitting on my desk for a few weeks, I finally got an idea.

And that idea worked!Don’t you love that?.

I set Kennedy up with some acrylics, some paint brushes, and some q-tips to make the little dabs..

It didn’t require too much fussing or carefulness and you can see she only painted the front. It used to have all that rock and fabric too, but I conquered it!

And now I can plant anything I want in there!Like some lilies to start with.. We’re experiencing a serious lack of flowering plants around here, especially because our giant lilac just didn’t bloom at all this year.

I was so looking forward to that.. Luckily, this pretty new friend of mine decided to make an early appearance.. One day it looked like this.. And the next day….I don’t even know.
