Sustainable buildings: passivhaus, low carbon design and NABERS | Pablo Gugel, Director of Sustainability
The bags are just plain white bags, stamped with some silver ink and a Christmas stamp, then I wrote the numbers in by hand.
Next, I “seasoned” them by rubbing some chalk all over them and then wiping it off.. Time to see how they look!I used some thumb tacks to attach them to the fronts of the baskets.
I just pressed them right in and they held on beautifully. They look pretty neat too.. A few extras for fanciness and I had just the look I wanted.. You might think it sounds crazy to try and use cardboard to make a chalkboard, but it really works just as well as any other surface once you get the paint on there. That stuff is magic.. Here’s one in action!
I’m pleased with it.Only one final tip: Try to remember to wipe your greasy fingerprints off of your labels before you photograph them to show the world.I’ve been working on a really quick little bathroom update for the last month or so, and of course, like on any project, there were lots of little imperfections.
I learned a long time ago that caulking is your best friend for filling gaps and covering up mistakes, especially in an old house like ours where nothing is square.
I thought I knew what I was doing when I started, but I found quite a few little things that made the job easier and look a lot better in the end.Again, I ask, why am I so lucky?.
This is a big deal, because, you see, these are my dream fire pit chairs.I’ve been planning to have them around a fire pit for years and was hoping that at the end of the season one year when the time was right I’d have saved enough to buy a couple and even if they were a horrendous color, I would just paint them white myself.. Then one day, bam, here they are!.
So of course my mind is racing with all the potential in this little area of the yard now.. Something about these chairs makes everything feel crisp and fresh, even in the middle of all the construction, or rather deconstruction, mess going on everywhere..So many ideas right now….
